One of the last Triple-A exclusive games to release on the platform, Ghost of Tsushima lets you believably live out and enact the ultimate samurai adventure on PlayStation 4. Developed by the same folks behind Sly Cooper and InFamous, you play as the titular hero who must explore the island of Tsushima in the effort to defend locals from the ongoing Mongol invasion. What follows is one of the most feature-packed open-world adventures out there.

Setting Ghost of Tsushima apart from many of its genre peers is its thoughtful combat. As a master of the sword, you’ll engage with enemies in a calm and calculated fashion, choosing your thrusts and slices with pinpoint accuracy. That is if you choose to live by the ways of the samurai. Others may choose to employ stealth, taking a ghost-like approach that will see you approach camps and outposts quietly in order to catch enemies off guard.

It helps that Sucker Punch’s rendition of 13th century Japan is utterly stunning, with a fully realistic day/night cycle and in-depth weather system that allows the world to change as you move through it. All of this can accurately be captured via the built-in photo mode, making it easier for you to create memorable in-game moments. Ghost of Tsushima is an admirable send-off for a great era of PlayStation 4 exclusive games.
