The Borderlands series is just as much known for its irreverent humour and endless gun-gifting loop just as much as it is its unique cell-shaded art style. There’s simply no other loot-driven first-person shooter quite like it, making this long-awaited third entry perfect for players who want something other than the gritty browns and greys of most other shooting games. Borderlands 3 brings with it new classes, new worlds and (if you can believe it) even more guns to get a hold of.

Picking up soon after the events of 2012’s Borderlands 2, this new game sees the Crimson Raiders disbanded and spread out across the galaxy in search of the fabled vaults previously glimpsed momentarily. This is what allows new bad guys, Troy and Tyreen Calypso, to rise up and lead their legion of fans against you. Luckily there are four new vault hunter classes to play as – Amara, Zane, Fl4k and Moze – each boasting their own unique ass-kicking skills.

Blasting off from Pandora in search of new worlds to plunder

Borderlands 3 marks the first time in the franchise will step away from the loot-filled planet of Pandora, meaning returning players have a suite of new planets to look forward to visiting. All present a large degree of visual variety when compared to Pandora’s dusty caverns, with such newly vibrant settings as forest landscapes and neon-laced metropolitans already confirmed.

A meaty campaign full of raid bosses and fun co-op gameplay

Borderlands 3 continues the tradition of offering up players a generous-sized campaign, which this time around has already confirmed to be roughly 35 hours long. That’s not including the heap of usual side missions and raid bosses available to take on and be a part of throughout this loot driven adventure. Borderlands 3 features more than enough content to keep you busy – primed to be your next first-person shooter fix.

Numerous skill tree options results in original character classes

There might be a defined four character classes to play as in Borderlands 3, but this third entry has made it easier than before to make any of them your own – thanks to some of the most diverse skill trees seen in the series. Most still operate on a cooldown, ensuring you’re unable to over abuse abilities, but the potential number of character builds has been significantly increased.
