    Learn More about Nintendo 3DS

The Nintendo 3DS console is the flagship portable gaming console from the world’s largest video game company. While it’s not the most powerful handheld gaming device, the Nintendo 3DS more than makes up for this with unique features, an iconic list of games and frequent refinements to the 3DS console itself.

    Nintendo 3DS Box

    What's in the box?

Aside from limited edition models, most Nintendo 3DS bundles will include the following: the console, a 4-8GB SD memory card, an official Nintendo 3DS Stylus and a user manual. It’s worth noting that Power Adaptors aren’t included by default, but a lot of our partner retailers do try to bundle one in, so it’s always worth checking out our Nintendo 3DS deals.

    The original 3DS

The original 3DS is the successor to the Nintendo DS, featuring backwards compatibility, so you can play all your old DS and DSI games on the 3DS. As well as projecting stereoscopic 3D without the need for glasses, the 3DS comes loaded with features such as augmented reality, StreetPass, Nintendo eShop, Miiverse, an Internet Browser and streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and YouTube.

    The New 3DS

    The New Nintendo 3DS

The New 3DS – called the New Nintendo 3DS – is an upgrade on the original, featuring enhanced technology, a much better processor, improved 3D visuals and battery life. Other differences include new C-stick and shoulder controls, an increase in screen size (1.2 times larger) and swappable cover-plates so you can customize the look of your New 3DS. And it’s still backward compatible!

The 3DS XL and New 3DS XL

The Nintendo 3DS Xl (and New 3DS XL) has all the same features and internal technology of the 3DS (and New Nintendo 3ds). The only difference is the size and weight. The XL console itself is bigger and heavier, with a 1-inch bigger screen and a bigger touch screen too. However, the resolution stays the same.

Which Nintendo 3DS bundle is right for you?

With four different models and hundreds of 3DS deals to choose from, knowing where to start can be a little overwhelming. Fortunately, with hundreds of great games to choose from, including Super Mario, Smash Bros, Legend of Zelda and Monster Hunter, and countless accessories, finding the perfect Nintendo 3DS bundle shouldn’t be too hard.

    Choosing the right model

As previously mentioned, there are four different Nintendo 3DS consoles; the 3DS, 3DS XL, the New 3DS, and the New 3DS XL. As the XL is a purely cosmetic difference, the biggest choice is picking between the New Nintendo 3DS or it’s predecessor. The New 3DS is the more powerful of the two consoles and boasts far more features, but this means it has driven down the price of the original 3DS to less than $100.

    Bundled games that hold value

Unlike other video game consoles, Nintendo 3DS games hold their value incredibly well. Years after their release, it can be hard to find copies of ‘Super Mario Bros’ or ‘Ocarina of Time’ at a reduced price as they are usually fan-favorites and always in-demand. 3DS bundles with popular games can mean big savings, and even better, you can always trade-in the game when you are finished with it for a good price.

    Limited Edition 3DS consoles

Just like other video game console manufacturers, Nintendo often release highly sought after Limited Edition 3DS console bundles, with a specific game and unique livery. Some of the more popular Limited Edition 3DS console bundles in recent times have included Hyrule Warriors, Monster Hunter Generations, Xenoblade Chronicles and Fire Emblem.
